INTERNAL-USE SOFTWARE, NET | INTERNAL-USE SOFTWARE, NET Internal-use software, net consists of the following:
The aggregate amortization expense for internal-use software, net is reflected in "Depreciation and amortization" in the Consolidated Statements of Operations. During the three months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021, the Company capitalized internal-use software development costs of $5.6 million and $6.8 million, and during the nine months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021, the Company capitalized internal-use software development costs of $17.6 million and $21.8 million, respectively. Total amortization expense associated with its capitalized internal-use software development costs for the three months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021 was $5.6 million and $6.5 million, and for the nine months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021 was $17.1 million and $17.7 million, respectively. There were no write-offs or impairment charges recorded for the three months ended September 30, 2022. The Company recorded an $8.4 million non-cash impairment charge within "Restructuring and related" in the Consolidated Statement of Operations during the nine months ended September 30, 2022. There were no write-offs or impairment charges recorded for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2021.
